Use a Performance Competence Spin for Collaboration Systems

Collaborative systems and tools are for Performance first and Learning second.

  • Let’s not call them Learning Technology or Learning Tools.
  • It is not about Learning.
  • It is about Performance Competence.
And there are many jobs where there is no time for on-the-job collaboration for Learning purposes only, where they must Learning while Performing Collaboratively…a natural by product that many times goes unnoticed. But the focus is on the work AND getting better at it over time…next time.
And there are times when the cost-to-do-so, collaborate for undirected Learning, is too great for the benefits. It’s more effective AND efficient to be directive, to be Formal and be Performance-based.
For the ROI of it all!
