I once wrote somewhere that I often brainstormed by myself. It did generate a few caustic comments. But it always worked for me. That’s why I loved having a flip chart easel mounted on my office wall, then a whiteboard, a now web 2.0 mind mapping tools on my computer. I can write/draw and step back for a moment or for days and come back to it while my mind wanders, wonders and creates.
Here is a post by Marc Andreessen that suggests that it probably was more effective than using a group.
