Don’t Begin with the End in Mind – Begin with the Receiving Systems in Mind

Your Output Is Really An Input

To some downstream operations.

To some “receiving system.”

Outputs As Inputs graphic

So when you begin with the end in mind – think one step past that, your end, to the handoff to one operations past that, or to one downstream customer past that.

Or to multiple downstream operations and/or customers.

Begin with the Receiving Systems in Mind

Not your end point.

Not the handoff point.

Stakeholders Balance Scales

ONE

Begin with understanding the needs and wants downstream – of your customer – and their stakeholders.

What are their requirements of your outputs as their inputs?

Begin there.

TWO

And then understand what your stakeholders require – and want – of your Products and the Processes that produce them.

THREE

And then Plan and Execute and Adjust accordingly.
