L&D: Informal Learning – The 70 – Isn’t Always the Best Approach

What Are the Costs of Non-Conformance?

L&D: All that one typically learns from their Informal Learning mistakes, is that something was a mistake. They don’t learn exactly what didn’t work, what to do instead, nor practice doing it better until they truly get better at it.

Which is OK if it is of little consequence.

The Costs of Conformance – to a standard – the I in ROI – sometimes look huge. Training and Education sometimes look like they are “just too much.” (Not that they are the solution.)

But when compared to the Costs of Non-Conformance – the R in ROI – they often pale in that comparison.

Make a Business Decision based on reasonable data.
