Blue Are the Life Giving Waters Taken For Granted
Photo of Lake James – in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina – taken November 30, 2017.
Back in the late 1960s, I was in High School. I recall back then reading an article in Time Magazine about Jimi Hendrix – before he died.
They referred to him as a poet – and they used the quote in the picture above.
That changed my perspective on music lyrics forever – and of Jimi Hendrix – whom I already liked.
I made a poster with those words (not quite correct) back in the day – in late 1968 I think – shown in the photo below – a photo of me and my artwork from the spring of 1969.
Some of the lyrics from Bold As Love:
Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted,
They quietly understand
Once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready,
But wonder why the fight is on
But they’re all bold as love, yeah, they’re all bold as love
Yeah, they’re all bold as love
Just ask the axis
I Hope You and Yours – And All of Us – Have a Happy & Safe & Prosperous New Year!
Be Bold As Love.
And help take care of the planet. As if you loved it too.
And another musician from those days – back in the day – heard from – about this very topic…
Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) · Marvin Gaye
I miss those days – days when I could be both outraged and hopeful.
May the pendulum swing back soon. ASAP.
