Management Areas of Performance
This is a model/framework from my EPPI – Enterprise Process Performance Improvement methods.
Part 1 covered: The Leadership Portion of the Model
Part 2 will cover: The Core Portion of the Model
Part 3 will cover: The Support Portion of the Model
Part 4 will cover: The Practical Utilities of the Model
Management – Core Areas of Performance
Is one level of the 3 tiers of the model. Here is a PowerPoint Show of the entire presentation – covered in this 4 Part series: Management Areas of Performance WBS
The 4 Core AoPs – Areas of Performance
These 4 are but one segment of the 14+ Areas of Performance.
The plus (+) reflects that there are a number of Processes being managed – per Department or Function or Division/SBU (at whatever level this model is being applied) – that are owned by those entities and/or shared (as is the case with cross functional processes).
Planning Work
This is all about the careful planning of work assignments in order to get the job done and to develop people when appropriate.
Are your supervisors and managers involved with work related to this AoP? Are you sharing L&D Content with them as appropriate?
Assigning Work
This is all about assigning people to work – with great clarity – and to sometimes include expanding their assignments for developmental purposes.

Monitoring Work
This is all about monitoring the work of the employees.

Troubleshooting Work
This is all about responding when the Monitoring efforts discover issues, and can include coaching and/or assigning others to help out for work overload situations and other issues.
Are your supervisors and managers involved with work related to this AoP? Are you sharing L&D Content with them as appropriate?
The Process Work
This is all about the efforts in Processes owned by the entity, and Processes supported by the entity.
