Not an L&D Decision
The 70 – learning through trial and error – may be OK.
And maybe not.
The 20 – learning through social interactions – may be OK.
And maybe not.
The 10 – learning through Formal Learning/ T&D/ etc. – may be costly.
And may be well worth it.
All Learning starts as Informal until someone decides to resource making it more Formal.
It’s a Business Decision – based on the Risks and/or Rewards at stake. And … a dollar not spent falls back to the Bottom Line.
Good Stewards of Shareholder Equity know why – from a Business Perspective – they would invest in Formal Learning – and why not.
