This past week I did another of my HPT Videos, and the target HPT Practitioner was someone who had been mentored and greatly influenced by one of my key mentors, the late Geary A. Rummler, PhD.
After the record button was off, we kept on talking about Geary. There were moments when I felt as if I should have kept the recording going.
I remember telling Cherie Wilkins about my discussion with Geary about “appropriate attributions” – about me asking him about him giving away his work so freely – and that was all Geary ever wanted from anyone who took his work, his models and methods, and then used them, or extended them, or just changed them, appropriate attribution.
I was flooded with memories about all my Rummler Times for a couple of days after my Skype Interview with her.
He was more than a mentor. He was a role model. He was always learning and always teaching as Cherie mentioned.
He welcomed anyone and their questions, suggestions and contributions. That was my experience working with him back in 1981 and 1982 when I was at Motorola.
See Cherie’s 56 minute 2019 HPT Video here – and my 6 minute 2008 HPT Video of the good doctor himself – here.
