Train Managers how to do that – create a balance – where it isn’t happening naturally.
Not every job can be totally engaging. Train managers on how to provide stretch assignments – perhaps delegating some of their own tasks to their subordinates.
Make it Performance-Based Training – addressing the authentic Performance requirements and context.
And don’t include Practice & Feedback on the Easy-Peasy parts of the job.
Include authentic Practice & Feedback on the Hellish parts of the job. THAT’s engaging.
