Flip it from Education on Topics – with Face Validity – to authentic Training on Tasks with Performance Context validity.
Have some Performer empathy.
Help the learner/Performer develop Performance Competence and Confidence – so that what is learned has a chance in making it back to the job – Transfer.
Topics can lead to Tasks – which should focus on Outputs – and you need to make sure that your Analysis and Design methods deal with them successfully to get to the authentic Performance Competence requirements. Demonstrate your EMPATHY to that.
