T&D: Performance Based Training Is Data Based

I owe much of my approach to ISD to this guy… the late Geary A. Rummler, PhD.

I was at this session in 1981.

I learned a derivative of a derivative of the Rummler approach to T&D before I joined MTEC in the spring of 1981 – when I graduated from college and joined the Training Services department of Wickes Lumber in Saginaw MI in August of 1979 – 40 years ago this month. Lucky me.

Then I joined Motorola’s Training & Education Center and got to learn first hand from the good doctor – and work on a dozen or so initiatives. He was my consultant – meaning – I carried his pencils. Luckier me.

Geary reviewed my 1999 book, and even redesigned the cover for it – at his own expense.

RIP Geary.
