Understanding the Target Audience(s) is critical to meeting their performance-based Instructional needs. Today this data is most often used to create what is referred to as Personas.
I’ve been doing this both informally (to start in the early 1980s) and then quite formally beginning in the mid-1980s – as a result of my working with AT&T Product Managers – starting in 1986 through 1994.
