Performance-Based Instruction – a Subset of Performance Improvement Consulting

Performance-Based Instruction – where “Instruction” is inclusive of: Job Aids & Training, or Resources & Courses, or Performance Support & Learning Experiences…

Performance Improvement Consulting – from an L&D perspective – is about Performance Improvement – BEYOND BUT INCLUDING INSTRUCTION.

Depending on what a Performance Improvement Consultant uncovers during Analysis/Discovery – they may need to enlist many other types of Expertise to address the Causes for any Gaps.

In 1983 I started to write my first book that didn’t come out until 1999 and was my 2nd book – and I had planned for it to be about my ISD – Instructional Systems Design methods – as a subset of my Performance Improvement methods (beyond but including instruction).

My ISD methods are branded as PACT – and my Performance Improvement methods are branded as EPPI.

The BIG Picture is what I was always striving to focus on. This graphic goes back into the 1990s and has been updated several times as I went from my original consulting firm to my current: Svenson & Wallace, Inc. (1982-1997), to CADDI, Inc. (1997-2002), to EPPIC, Inc. (2002 to today).

A Video Intro

… to what I’m talkin’ ’bout!

This video is 1 hour and 49 minutes in length.

One of the books I’m currently working on is:
Performance Improvement Consulting – for the L&D Professional.

I’m trying to carry forward the great work from the past from Rummler, Gilbert, Mager, and Harless – and hundreds more!

My books are all about performance-based ISD/LXD and/or Performance Improvement.
