The Big D in L&D

The BIG D in L&D are the DISTRACTIONS.

Shiny Objects such as “new technology tools” that are new, and “new techniques” that aren’t really new at all – enable too many to take their eye off the prize – Performance Improvement – as evidenced back on the job, by Performance Tasks and Output being accomplished Better, Faster and Cheaper.

That’s difficult to accomplish if your focus is on Topics, or Behaviors, or Skills Untethered to Tasks and Outputs.

Those are Means to the Ends of Outputs – which are the Means to the Ends of Outcomes.
