A CAD effort does not produce any new content. It defines the job’s outputs and tasks and roles/responsibilities, systematically derives the required, enabling awareness, knowledge and skills using 17 categories of knowledge/skills and assess existing content for it’s fit: as is, after modification or not at all.

And it lays out a suggested (or rigid) path through the existing or currently gapped content to build performance competence.

The gaps are prioritized by a Project Steering Team who had also handpicked the Master Performers and other SMEs involved in a “Group Process” for the conduct of the Analysis and Design Activities.

The gaps that do not get addressed (developed/acquired) are left of to handled by the target audiences’ management via Unstructured OJT” – nowadays known as Informal learning. – except that those gaps are “named” – and can still be part of an overall development plan – that is individually tailored based on the Learner/Performer’s incoming knowledge and skills and their specific, anticipated  performance assignments – which can easily vary for people with the same job title.
